Boedapest krijgt WK atletiek van 2023 toegewezen

De wereldkampioenschappen atletiek van 2023 zullen doorgaan in de Hongaarse hoofstad Boedapest. Dat maakte de Internationale Atletiekfederatie (IAAF) dinsdag bekend in Monaco. Boedapest was de enige kandidaat, nadat de IAAF eerder al had beslist dat dit WK opnieuw in Europa zou plaatsvinden.

Nina Derwael mocht gisteren in het Brusselse The Dominican-hotel haar prijs ophalen, maar Nafi Thiam zit vandaag op een nog iets prestigieuzere locatie. De meerkampster kan in het mondaine Monaco zichzelf opvolgen als Wereldatlete van het Jaar.

Bashir Abdi en Koen Naert derde en vierde op Nederlandse Montferlandrun

Bashir Abdi en Koen Naert zijn zondag als derde en vierde geëindigd op de Montferlandrun over vijftien kilometer in het Nederlandse ‘s-Heerenberg. Onze landgenoten maakten in een sterk internationaal veld mee de wedstrijd en werden uiteindelijk de enige twee niet-Afrikanen in de top tien.

Hattori claims upset victory in Fukuoka
